Mario Party Delayed, OFFICIALLY

Sorry for the hype, but at least we got 'em to fix their mistake...here's the proof:

Hello, I run an independent Nintendo fan site and I noticed a few days ago
that the release date for Mario Party 8 was changed from 3/5/07 to Q2. On the
wii.nintendo.com software page, however, it was recently added to the new
section: Release Date Announced. The date there says 3/5/07...so has the game
been pushed back or not? Why would they add the game to the release date
announced section with that date if it was JUST pushed back?
Any information regarding this matter and/or the game in question would be
greatly appreciated!

Kevin Ricoy, [The Nintendrone]

RESPONSE:

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

I just checked wii.nintendo.com and discovered that the Mario Party 8 release
date is now TBD (to be determined). However, I have it on good authority that
the game should hit the store shelves sometime during the 2nd Quarter (April.
May, or June) of 2007. I don't know why the release date was changed, though I
can only assume that it is to ensure the game is the best it can be. Of course,
for the latest official information about new and upcoming games, our Game List
(www.nintendo.com/gamelist) is your best resource.

And, while you are at our site, be sure to check out the My Nintendo section.
Not only does this allow you to monitor the progress of any repairs or part
orders that you may have, it also gives you access to the Nintendo Forums where
you can interact with other players. Here you can discuss games and systems,
and possibly obtain key game play information. Take a look. I think that you
will find it helpful.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.

So...let's try to use some reasoning.

April has Super Paper Mario..so it probably won't release then. May might have Metroid, so if that's true, that's not a possibility. That means you can probably expect it in either June or May. But if they do that, in order to keep other promises, we will probably see at LEAST one big 1st party title a month this year. That's awesome crazinesstacityage.

Reminder: Things to look forward to in March, DS Related

1) Wario: Master of Disguise - Wario takes a break from his role in WarioWare games, and returns to the glory days of WarioLand. This platformer makes use of the touch screen, using different symbols to change Wario into a different disguise.

Expect it around 3/5/07.

2) Rayman: Raving Rabbids - For those of you who experienced the Wii version, a compilation of mini-games, you're probably wondering how the hell this will work. This game will be different, and most likely take place in the middle of the same basic story, but this time, in the form of a platformer or adventurer. Fun? Maybe, wait for the impressions.

Expect it around 3/6/07

3) Spectrobes - This game has gotten a lot of positive pre-release buzz and has had plenty of promotion, with even Disney World getting in on the fun. Go on an adventure excavating fossils and bringing them to life to raise them and let them become stronger! (Yeah, kinda like Pokemon, but good nonetheless).

Expect it around 3/13/07

4) Custom Robo Arena - Nothing new, not that it's a bad thing. Build a robot, fight. Pretty cool actually, best part is - this game supports Wi-Fi! DS Download is also supported, so this is one of those great multi-player games-to-be.

Expect it around  3/19/07

5) Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 - I'm not gonna lie...I'm awesome at this game. Not really interested anymore, but this game might change that. Online chat, trade, and battle over Wi-Fi? Yes Please!

Expect it around 3/20/07

That's about it that's super interesting, if anything comes up, I'll be sure to add it!
